Mobility & Accessibility Awareness

Promoting understanding around mobility support, accessibility and inclusion in everyday environments — and advocating for barrier-free spaces and inclusive design across Africa.

Overview

For many people living with mobility disabilities, the biggest obstacle isn't the disability itself — it's a step with no ramp, a doorway too narrow for a wheelchair, a bus stop with nowhere safe to wait, or simply a community that hasn't been shown why any of this matters. InuAbility works to close that gap by raising awareness of what real accessibility looks like, and by helping the people who design and manage everyday spaces — families, schools, employers, developers and local authorities — build environments that work for everyone from the start.

This focus area sits at the foundation of everything else we do: assistive technology, caregiver support and advocacy all depend on the physical world being navigable in the first place.

Key Offerings

Accessibility Audits

On-site assessments of homes, schools, offices and public buildings that identify physical barriers — from ramps and doorways to signage and pathways — and set out clear, practical fixes.

Inclusive Design Consulting

Guidance for architects, developers and organisations on universal design principles, so accessibility is built in from the planning stage rather than retrofitted later.

Community Sensitization Campaigns

Public workshops and outreach that shift everyday attitudes toward mobility disability, replacing assumptions with understanding.
